A form of scuba diving that require extensive experience, rigorous training, specialised equipment like utilising breathing gases other than air or standard nitro refers to technical diving or tech diving. Furthermore, this form of diving often exceeds the scope of recreational diving. Other than the experience, training, or specialised equipment, there are several factors that make technical diving different and, well, technical. For one, the depth of dives is usually deeper than 130 feet/40 meters and usually in an environment with no direct access to the surface or natural light–fresh and saltwater caves or shipwrecks. In addition, planned decompression is carried out and this is true in number of stages during a controlled ascent to the surface at the end of the dive. With this, risk of oxygen toxicity is high, thus, the level of risk and training required for technical diving are far beyond than what is required for recreational diving.

Difficult Technical Diving

Furthermore, different and less common equipment are used by technical divers since technical dives have longer durations than average recreational scuba dives. With this, a specialised training is also necessary. To date, a number of technical training organisations were launched where various different training are conducted and updated.
